Stay at the Penguin

On my trip to Miami Beach I stayed at the Penguin - an awesome little art deco hotel. Despite the fact that it is only three stories tall, there is a special room there on what they call the fourth floor. Room 401, accessible only through the emergency stairwell, is actually a little room on the roof, overlooking an unobstructed view of the beach. It’s light blue with a tiny little crystal chandalier, a window-unit air-conditioner, and a mirrored wall that runs the length of the entire room. It is the perfect blend between tacky and magical. I loved it. If I were a billionaire I would purchase the hotel and turn this room into my artist studio, lock myself in there for weeks at a time and make the most incredible artwork.
