Hermes

The three background figures in light blue are taken from William Sheldon’s Somatotype studies.  The structural image in the middleground is a schematic for the Russian Rocket “Hermes.” The two lower figures in the foreground were extracted from Donato Creti’s painting “Mercury and Paris” in which Mercury (Hermes) gives Paris an apple that is to be awarded to the most beautiful goddess.  And the top figure in the foreground is my head superimposed onto the body of Joan Blondell, stage&screen actress whose career was launched by winning the “Miss Dallas” beauty pageant in Texas.  The print size of this digital collage is 30″ x 24″.
