One day I will own my own copy of “Pink Narcissus.”  I still have not seen it myself.  Unfortunately the school’s library does not own it.  I’m going to check some video stores - surely someone in San Francisco has a copy to rent or borrow.

An interesting observation by the narrator about James Bidgood’s choice to remain anonymous for roughly thirty years after the making and releasing of “Pink Narcissus, “If someone would have disclosed his secret, the secret of ‘anonymous,’ the reclusive artist could have been as famous as Andy Warhol.” There’s something to be said for taking responsibility for your art, or in this case the bewildering (and in my opinion tragic) decision to refuse to claim it.  To not claim one’s art is essentially a denial of self.
