“Transgression” Announcement

Dear Artist,
Thank you for your interest in Transgression, June 2 - July 3, 2011 with Beers.Lambert Contemporary Art.
We had a number of diverse and interesting applications to the exhibition from all over the world; the jury’s decision was not made easy by the varied and worthy number of submissions with extremely different interpretations on the theme. We thank you as well for your patience, as scheduling conflicts with the jury committee meant that the decisions were made later than expected.
We regrettably inform you that for this particular exhibition, your work was not selected to advance to the longlist, which is a preliminary selection of 80 artists from whom up to 10 exhibitors will be selected. Please do not assume your work is inferior as a result of this exclusion: in many instances, very striking and powerful work was not selected to advance simply because it did not fit within the aesthetic scope or narrative journey that we see for Transgression. We encourage you to continue to apply to future Beers.Lambert open calls as you may find that your work is suited for one of our forthcoming opportunities.
